Managing your account settings and language

Your FilterWise account settings let you customize your experience, including your display name, preferred language, currency, and other preferences. This guide covers all available settings.

Accessing Account Settings

Click Account in the dashboard sidebar to open the account settings page.

Your Name

Your first and last name are used in:

  • Email notifications sent by FilterWise
  • Your account profile

To update your name:

  1. Go to the Account page
  2. Find the Name section
  3. Enter your first name and last name
  4. Click Save

Your name is optional — FilterWise works without it, but personalized emails look better with a name.

Language Settings

FilterWise supports six languages:

  • 🇬🇧 English
  • 🇫🇷 Français (French)
  • 🇩🇪 Deutsch (German)
  • 🇪🇸 Español (Spanish)
  • 🇵🇹 Português (Portuguese — European)
  • 🇮🇹 Italiano (Italian)

To change your language:

  1. Go to the Account page
  2. Find the Language section
  3. Select your preferred language from the dropdown
  4. The interface updates immediately

What Language Affects

  • Dashboard interface: All menus, buttons, labels, and text
  • Email notifications: Forwarded listing emails and daily recap emails are sent in your chosen language
  • Help center: Articles are displayed in your selected language (where translations are available)
  • Onboarding wizard: The setup flow uses your selected language

What Language Does NOT Affect

  • Listing content: Property descriptions remain in the language used by the portal/agency
  • AI analysis: The AI processes listings in their original language and reports results in English (this ensures maximum accuracy regardless of listing language)
  • Your filter instructions: You can write your instructions in any language — the AI understands all supported languages

Currency Preference

FilterWise supports billing in two currencies:

  • USD ($) — United States Dollars
  • EUR (€) — Euros (approximately 10% cheaper than USD)

Your currency preference is set on the Subscription page when you choose or change your plan. The currency selector lets you view pricing in your preferred currency and determines what you'll be charged at checkout.

Note: Once subscribed, your billing currency is locked to your active subscription's currency. To switch currencies, you would need to cancel and resubscribe. See Currencies and regions for details.

Email Address

Your login email is displayed on the Account page but cannot be changed directly. Your login email is the email you used to sign up (or your Google account email).

If you need to change your login email, you'll need to create a new account with the new email address.

Usage Statistics

The Account page shows your current usage:

  • Listings checked today: How many listings have been processed against your daily limit
  • Scans today: How many source scans you've used today
  • Credits remaining: Your available analysis credits

These counters reset daily at midnight UTC.

Analytics Chart

The Last 10 days analytics chart shows your activity trends:

  • Emails: Number of emails received per day
  • Listings: Number of listings checked per day
  • Forwarded/Matches: Number of matched listings per day
  • Scanned: Number of listings from website monitoring per day

This chart helps you spot trends — for example, if your match rate is declining, your instructions might need adjustment, or the market might be changing.

Account Deletion

At the bottom of the Account page, you'll find the Danger zone section with an option to delete your account. See Deleting your account for full details.

Security

Your account security is managed through your authentication method:

  • Email/password accounts: You can reset your password from the login page using "Forgot password?"
  • Google sign-in accounts: Security is managed through your Google account settings

FilterWise does not store plain-text passwords and uses industry-standard authentication protocols.
